Polish middle blocker Iga Wasilewska has signed with LOVB Atlanta, and become the first Polish player to join the League One Volleyball (LOVB). After a six-year tenure with Grupa Azoty Chemik Police, where she was a important player and led her team to multiple titles, Wasilewska will now bring her talents to the American league.
The move comes amidst significant changes for Chemik Police, which faced sponsorship issues and nearly withdrew from competition following the departure of Grupa Azoty as a sponsor.
Wasilewska, a native of Warsaw, has a decorated career that includes 14 titles and notable international achievements. She debuted with Poland’s U20 team in 2010 and has since competed in the Volleyball Nations League and other prestigious tournaments. She will join a diverse roster of 28 international players from 17 countries at LOVB Atlanta when the new season kicks off on January 8, 2025.
