It seems that Russia is not interested in this year’s edition of World League.
In front of a packed house, the USA improved to a 4-0 record in Pool B of the FIVB Volleyball World League on Saturday with a straight-set (25–19, 25–23, 25–17) win over Russia at the Pyramid in Long Beach.
Russia, the defending champions, is still looking for their first victory in 2014.
One night after winning a 3-2 battle, the United States made it look much easier, leading in kills 41-38, in blocks 6-4 and in aces 4-1.
The United States’ Matthew Anderson led all scorers with 15 points on 14 kills and one ace, while Denis Biryukov paced Russia with 14 points on 13 attacks and one ace.
