They have done it! In front of more than 10.000 fans in Pinnacle Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA defeated Dominican Republic and won the NORCECA Olympic Qualifier! It means that the American squad have qualified for the Olympic Games 2016, while Dominican Republic will have the second chance to do so at the World Olympic Qualifier in Japan.
USA have finished the tournament with all 3 wins, Dominican Republic had 2-1 score, Puerto Rico stayed at 1-2, while Canada suffered all 3 defeats.
“There are no words to describe it,” said Jordan Larson, who played collegiately at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and had the vocal crowd support behind her. “It is unbelievable. I am happy that all the fans came out to support us. Obviously we have played Dominican Republic a lot. We know a lot of about. We had a good game plan going in and executed well.”
