Lks-vs-Budowlani
In an emotional atmosphere that was created on the packed stands of the Sport Arena Łódź (3,000 spectators), the hosts ŁKS prevailed in a tie-breaker against Budowlani despite losing by a 1-2 to take the opening lead in the Liga Siatkówki Kobiet 2018/2019 playoff finals: 22-25, 29-27, 21-25, 25-20, 15-7.
Interestingly, ŁKS had as much as three players finishing the match with the exact number of points – 20! These are Brazilian Regiane Bidias, Zuzanna Efimienko-Młotkowska (four kill blocks) and Izabela Kowalińska. The latter entered the court in the finish of the first set and changed the course of the match, earning the MVP of the match award.
Serbian Jovana Brakočević-Canzian top-scored for Budowlani with 29 points. Małgorzata Śmieszek set up six kill blocks while Maria Stenzel made 79% positive reception (19 total, 42% perfect).
By advancing to the playoff finals both teams secured their places in the 2020 CEV Champions League.
