Alessia Orro Named MVP at Women’s World Championship

Italy’s Alessia Orro has been crowned Most Valuable Player of the 2025 FIVB Women’s World Championship in Thailand, after guiding her team to a world title.

The 27-year-old setter was the steady hand behind Italy’s attack. Orro was one of three Italians selected to the Dream Team, joined by star libero Monica De Gennaro and captain Anna Danesi at middle blocker.

Runners-up Türkiye also celebrated individual honors, with powerhouse opposite Melissa Vargas named Best Opposite and veteran captain Eda Erdem sharing the Best Middle Blocker title with Danesi.

From the other semifinalists, Gabi Guimarães of Brazil and Mayu Ishikawa of Japan were chosen as the tournament’s Best Outside Hitters, completing an all-star lineup that showcased the depth of talent across the globe.
