PAOK described the transfer as a major boost, saying that bringing in one of the world’s top outside hitters is a real “transfer bomb.” However, Kovačević won’t be able to make his debut before December 15, when the winter transfer window in Greece officially opens.

Born in 1993 in Kraljevo, Kovačević began his career in Ribnica and went on to play in Ljubljana, Italy, China, Qatar, Poland, and Russia, earning multiple titles and individual awards along the way. He also represented Serbia at the 2012 and 2024 Olympic Games. Before joining PAOK, he spent his most recent season with Piacenza in Italy.
