IRN M: FIVB gives ultimatum to Iranian federation to oblige 7 clubs to pay debts to foreign coaches and players

by WoV

In a letter, the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) asked the Iranian Volleyball Federation (IRIVF) to oblige their clubs to pay their debts to foreign members.

By sending a letter to the Iranian federation, the FIVB asked to oblige its clubs that have lawsuits with the world volleyball body due to non-payment of salaries to foreign players and coaches, to pay their debts and satisfy their plaintiffs. Based on this, the organization governing the Iran Volleyball League, by publishing a notice, asked seven clubs, including Shahradri Urmia and Saipa (two of the most famous debtors), to settle their obligations by the end of the Super League and second division (March 19, 2023) and close their lawsuits. Otherwise, these clubs will be barred from having a team in the next season of these volleyball championships.

For many years, Urmia haven’t paid off their debt to Ljubomir and Dragan Travica, as well as Olli-Pekka Ojansivu, former coach and foreign players, respectively, repeatedly failing to meet the deadlines set, which had no impact on the debt payment process of this club.
