The Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF), allegedly, sent a super offer to the current world champion with Serbia Women’s National Team, Daniele Santarelli. There seems to be a huge economic difference between Turkey’s offer and that of Serbia.
The TVF is aiming for the big target in their search for a new head coach for the women’s national team. After the separation from Giovanni Guidetti last month, the body chaired by Mehmet Akif Üstündağ has in fact presented an offer to none other than Daniele Santarelli, the fresh world champion with the Serbia Women (with whom he has a three-year contract in place), as well as the multi-titled expert of the Italian club, Prosecco DOC Imoco Conegliano.
According to Volley News, Turkey’s offer is very lucrative: around 200,000 euros a year until 2024, with the possibility of extending the contract for another two years. Santarelli took his time to reflect: the proposal is, obviously, extremely attractive, but it wouldn’t be easy to interrupt a cycle that the Italian expert started with Serbia in the best possible way, with the world title conquered in the Netherlands a couple of months back.
Allegedly, the Serbian federation (OSS) hasn’t sat idly by and has already set in motion to probe for new candidates.
