The stage is set for the Brazilian Superliga 23/24 season, which will commence next month. The format will be the same as the previous year, featuring a one-match final.
Highlights:
- The Superliga 22/23 also had a single-match final, a shift from the traditional ‘best of three’ format seen in earlier playoffs.
- The 23/24 season will begin for men on November 11 and for women on November 7.
- The CBV (Brazilian Volleyball Confederation) retains the right to decide the venue for both the men’s and women’s finals. The decision is usually made a few weeks before the game.
In the previous season, the men’s title was clinched by Sada Cruzeiro, who defeated Itambé Minas 3-0 at Farma Conde Arena. Meanwhile, in the women’s segment, Dentil Praia Clube triumphed over Gerdau Minas with a similar score at Sabiazinho.
Women’s Superliga: The season starts on November 7, where reigning champions Dentil Praia Clube will play against the newly promoted São Caetano. The playoffs begin on March 29, 2024, with the final scheduled for April 28, 2024. The location for the final remains to be decided.
Men’s Superliga: Opening on November 11, the first match will feature Suzano against Guarulhos. Last season’s finalists, Sada Cruzeiro and Itambé Minas, have different start times. The playoffs kick off on April 3, culminating in a single-match final on May 5.
