Sada Cruzeiro celebrated victory over Suzano in the 2024/2025 Brazilian Men’s Volleyball Superliga, maintaining their lead with 11 points from four rounds. However, the win was marred by an injury scare for middle blocker Cledenílson Souza, who left the court after a suspected Achilles tendon rupture in his right foot.
Cledenilson, who had been pivotal with six points and a 71% attack efficiency, suffered the injury late in the second set with Cruzeiro up 21-19. The game paused briefly as Cledenilson was helped off for medical checks, leaving fans anxious for further updates.
Despite the setback, Sada Cruzeiro managed to close the second set 32-30 after a tense finish and continued their push with wins in the final sets, securing a 26-24 , 32-30 and 25-16 triumph. Key players included Douglas Souza and Wallace, scoring 15 and 12 points each, while Suzano’s Daniel Muniz topped the scoreboard with 17 points. Lucão, with nine points and four blocks, took home the VivaVôlei trophy as the match MVP.
