Favorites No.1 at the 2019 CEV European Men’s Volleyball Championship, Poland National Team, have difficulties reaching the capital of Slovenia for the semifinals.

Schiphol

Schiphol

As the Polish Volleyball Federation (PZPS) informed, the trip of its male national team from Amsterdam (the Netherlands) to Ljubljana (Slovenia) has become complicated due to the strike of the Slovenian airlines Adria Airways. Simply, the team coached by Vital Heynen got stuck at the Amsterdam airport Schiphol.

Just before they were about to take off, Polish delegation learned that their flight was canceled. While the Poles considered other options of traveling to Ljubljana, their government came to the rescue – Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki made the government’s plane available to the national team. However, this will certainly disturb Poland National Team a bit knowing that it will arrive in the Slovenian capital approximately six hours later than expected – instead of 12:00 C.E.T., they will arrive at 18:00 C.E.T.

Poland will play co-hosts Slovenia in the EuroVolley semifinal on Thursday, September 26.

great that the team could safely and in a timely manner arrive in Slovenia, but organization by CEV is much below even 3nd league standards. that air travel company was informing about financial crisis and possible bankruptcy for some time now and CEV did not have any alternative plan. and now that PZPS and Polish Gov. solved it by themselves (plane, travel costs), CEV is saying that there is no problem … just shameless
