Bartosz Kurek, Polish and also world men’s volleyball superstar, strengthen the PlusLiga giants. The 28-year-old opposite hitter returned to Skra after four years.

Kurek came to Skra in 2008, as very promising player and left them after four seasons as the star of the club and also the Polish National Team. With Skra, he won three titles in the Polish Championship, three Polish Cups and silver and bronze medal in the CEV Champions League.

He signed a contract with the Japanese JT Thunders Hiroshima for the upcoming season for which he was preparing with Skra. But, he terminated it because he wanted to rest.

“I know the city and the organization of the club well. I know what to expect and I know that there’s no place in Poland where I would have such excellent conditions to train and return to the disposal through this short period of the season and ahead of the league,” Kurek said.

Well, it seems that he doesen’t need a rest after all. I’m very dissaponted in him, very unprofesional behaviour, and by that I don’t mean that his decision of terminating a contract with Thunders was unprofesional, everyone can change his mind about something, but the thing that he wasn’t honest with JT and the fans is very dissapointing

@Azgaan Sure, it was quite rude behavior against JT, but president of Skra said, that Kurek will get as much time as he needs, so we still don’t know when he’ll back on court. Mental health is very important, maybe even more important than psychical health. But with mentally is the problem, that nobody sees it, and in situations like this one there’s lot of speculations. Kurek can say everything, but only he knows, what’s the truth.

@pol Yes, but right after the game between Zaksa and Skra one of the reporters asked Skra’s president when Kurek will officialy join his club, in response he said ‘tommorow’ and that ‘hopefully he will play for us next week’, so it doesn’t sound to me that Kurek have a serious issues with his mental health. If that’s true, then Kurek’s behaviour is very dissapointing, at least for me, as he straight up lied to JT and the fans, which is not easy to forget.
