Qatari duo claim their fourth gold of the 2025 season with another dominant performance.
Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan continued their run on the Beach Pro Tour, clinching the Newport Beach Elite title. The Qatari pair — Olympic bronze medalists and one of the world’s top teams — added their fourth gold of the 2025 season after an unbeaten campaign in California.
They stormed through the tournament, winning all six matches and dropping just one set. In the final, Cherif and Ahmed defeated Brazil’s Evandro Gonçalves and Arthur Lanci in straight sets, 21-16, 30-28, showing once again why they’re among the sport’s elite.
They’ve now won four gold medals — in Gstaad, Rio de Janeiro, Xiamen, and Newport Beach — and boast 17 wins in their last 19 matches.
Chile’s Marco and Esteban Grimalt earned the bronze, claiming their first podium of the season with a straight-sets win over the American Crabb brothers.
