The 2016 Rio Olympics winner Ricardo Lucarelli will stay in EMS Taubaté Funvic for two more seasons, Bruno Voloch of Estadão and Globo Esporte published based on the sources inside the Superliga Cimed 2018-2019 playoff finalists.
Thus, Taubaté won the battle against Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei who aimed Lucarelli as a replacement for American Taylor Sander. A 27-year-old Lucarelli is a member of Taubaté for four seasons already, establishing himself as the fans’ idol.
In addition to signing the new deal with Lucarelli, the São Paulo team renewed with an outside hitter Douglas Souza for two more seasons as well. They also contracted two newcomers for the next season: the outside hitter Renan Bonora from Vôlei Renata and libero Rogério Filho “Rogerinho” from Fiat/Minas.
Taubaté are in talks with SESC-RJ middle blocker Maurício Souza and negotiate on the contract extension with Argentinean outside hitter Facundo Conte.
