The reigning women’s club volleyball champions of Brazil, Itambé Minas, signed the contract extension with their head coach Nicola Negro.
Negro is given a chance by the Minas officials to keep the post of the head coach. According to Bruno Voloch, an Italian expert will stay one more season at the helm of the reigning Superliga champions.
It will be his 4th consecutive season in command of the Belo Horizonte side. Negro was hired by Minas in 2019. Under the leadership of a 42-year-old expert, Minas was South American champion in 2019/20 and won the Superliga and Brazilian Cup in the 2020/21 season. In the current season, Minas have had to admit the supremacy of Dentil Praia Clube in the fight for the trophy in the state championship, South American Championship, and national Super Cup. Obviously, it didn’t shake the relationship and confidence of the Minas officials in the Italian’s work.
