“I’m very happy with our progress. We didn’t play the best as we can in the final but we managed to win the trophy. At the end, it was a good game against Praia Clube who is, in my opinion, favorite in this season. This trophy brings us confidence. We managed to get out of the difficult situation after the third set. That was important moment. We know how much we have still to improve” says Gabi.
The Dutch star Anne Buijs was one of the best on the court and after winning the first trophy in Brazil she was very pleased:
“We started very well, putting too much pressure on their team. But, they recovered in the third set and luckily for us, in the fourth we came back to our playing style. We played very well in the decisive moments and I believe it was a determining factor in this game. Also, I’m very happy with my start in Brazil. The players and coaching staff helped me to settle down a lot. I want to learn Portuguese as quickly as possible,” says Anne Buijs.
