After dominating over Zenit in the FIVB Men’s Volleyball Club World Championship gold medal match, Cruzeiro defeated Campinas in Brazilian Super Cup final in Fortaleza 3-1 (18-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-20).
This year, these two teams played against each other in the finals three times and Cruzeiro prevailed in all of them (Brazilian Cup and Brazilian Championship last season and now, Brazilian Super Cup).
“I am very happy for the third title. We are very tired but the motivation to get another title, the mentality of the players to always win, allowed them to grab another title. I am very happy for the result of our work. Now it’s rest time but we are already thinking about the SuperLiga,” said Cruzeiro coach Marcelo Mendez.
As Argentinian expert stated, Cruzeiro turn their attention to the 2016/17 Superliga season. On Saturday, November 5, they will make their debut against Juiz de Fora, while Campinas go against Caramuru on the same day.
