Poland, Turkey and the Netherlands remain undefeated, while Germany achieved first victory in today’s Group B and D matches at EuroVolley 2021.
Pool B
Germany enters the match after a 1-3 defeat against Poland in their first match in Pool B. In the second match at EuroVolley, Germany beat the Czech Republic 3-1 (25-23, 20-25, 25-23, 25-21). Louisa Lippmann was the top scorer of the match with 20 points for win of Germany.
Considered the favorite in the second match of the day, Poland did not allow a surprise and achieved a victory over Greece 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-19), thus taking first place in the standings in Pool B. Magdalena Stysiak was again the best player of the match with 21 points.
Pool D
The first match of the day in Group D offered no special drama as the Netherlands beat Finland in three sets (25-17, 25-12, 25-22). Juliet Lohuis and Celeste Plak lead the Netherlands in a win against Finland.Lohuis scored 12 and Plak 9 points and were the top scorers for the Netherlands.
The second match of the third day in Group D offered a clash of Turkey against the team of Ukraine. Turkey were huge favourites and they defeated Ukraine 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 26-24). Eda Erdem Dundar of Turkey was the top scorer of the match with 18 points, followed by her teammate Ebrar Karakurt with 16.
