The adventure of the major title favorites in the CEV Volleyball Cup 2022 | Women, Italy’s Unet e-work Busto Arsizio, has ended rather quickly given their ambitions. But, for that, ‘The Butterflies’ need to blame Germany’s Allianz MTV Stuttgart, which is also considered a club that is capable of going all the way in the competition. The team commanded by Norwegian Tore Aleksandersen, after the 0-3 from the first leg of the 1/8 finals, packed a comeback 3-1 victory at home and then also won the Golden Set with a score of 16-14. American Simone Lee was amazing for Stuttgart (32 points). The Dutch Eline Timmerman set up six blocks, while Lara Berger served four aces.

Three more clubs earned the promotion to the quarter-finals today – Uralochka-NTMK Ekaterinburg (RUS), ŁKS Commercecon Łódź (POL), and Volero Le Cannet (FRA) – all by making double straight-set triumphs over their respective rivals.

Four more teams secured berths in the Top 8 yesterday, and now only one place for the next stage remains vacant which will be filled by the winners of the face-off between Turkey’s Eczacıbaşı Dynavit İstanbul and Slovenia’s Calcit Kamnik.
