Poland’s Grot Budowlani Łódź became the first of four teams that successfully complete the playoff round of the 2023 CEV Women’s Volleyball Cup.
Budowlani defeated the Belgian team VDK Gent Dames 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-21) at home in Łódź in the rematch of the playoff round of the CEV Volleyball Cup 2023 | Women and advanced to the quarterfinals. In the first match, the Polish side also won 3-0. In front of their own audience, they quickly won two sets, which sealed their promotion to the next round. In the quarterfinals, the TAURON Liga representative will play against one of the teams that will take third place in their CEV Champions League groups and won’t be promoted to the knockout stage of the competition.
Monika Fedusio topped Budowlani with 10 points. Adrianna Kukulska served four aces. Julie Smeets scored 16 points for Gent.
