Piacenza Earn Straight-Sets Win in CEV Cup Final First Leg

Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza took a step toward the CEV Volleyball Cup 2026 Men Final crown after a convincing 3-0 victory over SVG Lüneburg in first leg.

The Italian visitors won 26-24, 25-22, 25-16 at the LKH Arena Lüneburg to gain a strong advantage before next week’s decisive return match in Piacenza. After moving two sets ahead, the visitors controlled the third set from the start, dominating the closing stages to complete the sweep.

Paolo Porro was named MVP after steering Piacenza with authority, while Alessandro Bovolenta led all scorers with 17 points. Jose Miguel Gutierrez added 11 points and Ramazan Efe Mandiraci contributed 10. For the hosts, Daniel Gruvaeus scored 11 points.

Piacenza now return home as favourites to secure the title, while Lüneburg face a difficult task in the second leg.

Result: SVG Lüneburg lost to Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza 0-3 (24-26, 22-25, 16-25).
