Slovakia replaced Czech Republic as 2019 women’s EuroVolley co-hosts

The women’s European Championship 2019 will be taking place in four countries – Turkey, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia!

Slovakia stepping in for their neighbors from the Czech Republic as a co-host of Europe’s premier Volleyball event. As a result, the Czech Republic will contest the qualification rounds due to start later this summer while Slovakia are directly qualified for the Final Round. 

The championship is a truly historic one since for the very first time it will feature as many as 24 participating teams and matches will be taking place across four countries. 

Apart from the four co-hosts – Turkey, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia – the following teams have secured their participation: Serbia, the Netherlands, Azerbaijan, Italy, Russia, Belarus, Germany and Bulgaria. Twelve more teams will qualify by January 2019 with the Czech Republic now set to play the national teams of Finland, Estonia and Sweden.
