In Istanbul, Novara barely defeated Galatasaray SK Istanbul in the tie-break (25-21, 7-25, 16-25, 25-21, 15-10) although the opponent’s team showed in few sets a very high level of play. The second set of the match is the proof of their good play.
Paola Egonu was the best scorer of the match, she scored 26 points while her teammates Francesca Piccinini and Celeste Plak finished the match with 11 points each.
On the Turkish side, Neslihan Demir Guler (13), Dobriana Rabadzhieva (12) and Seda Tokatlioglu Aslanyurek (12) were very motivated for the victory but unfortunately, they did not succeed. They definitely needed Tatiana Kosheleva for the victory who left the court in the second set due to injury.
The next match is scheduled for April 5 in Novara.
