The FIVB launched an Athletes’ Relief Support fund aiming to provide short-term assistance to professional indoor volleyball and beach volley players who have been financially affected after the postponement and cancellation of the FIVB events due to coronavirus pandemic. This fund will primarily assist players who are currently unable to afford basic necessities such as food, family care, and housing.

The FIVB will put its Task Force in charge of evaluating applications in order to ensure fair distribution of financial aid. Those players clear from sanctions both on national and international levels, without anti-doping rules violations, and having participated in the minimum required number of FIVB events during the 2018/19 will have an upper hand in receiving money from the fund.

Recall that the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) provided one-time financial assistance to clubs.
