VNL W: China make comeback against South Korea, the champions USA victorious

China and USA have scored victories at the start of the Volleyball nations league.

Zhang Changning led China to win over South Korea with 24 points, while her teammate Liu Yanhan contributed with 14. 

South Korea had a good start of the match by taking the first set but they didn’t manage to stop China in the next three sets. Lee Soyoung (16 points) and Kim Yeon Koung (14 points) were the top scorers in Korea.

The defending champions USA beat the Dominican Republic in straight sets to open their VNL 2021 campaign. The girls from Dominicana didn’t manage to do anything to stop the USA girls.

Kathryn Plummer was the best scorer with 16 points, while Jordan Larson and Jordan Thompson scored 15 points each. On the other side, Bethania de La Cruz and Ceneida Gonzalez had 10 each.

China – South Korea 3-1 (23-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-19)

Dominican Republic – USA 0-3 (20-25, 21-25, 12-25)

Italy – Poland 2-3 (22-25, 25-22, 25-20, 22-25, 15-17)

Brazil – Canada 3-1 (23-25, 25-11, 25-9, 25-14)
