by WoV

We have finally started watching national team competitions after almost 2 years of a break due to the pandemic of coronavirus.

The girls stepped on the stage today to start the Volleyball Nations League. At the competition opening, The Netherlands needed three sets to beat Belgium, while Turkey and Serbia played an outstanding game.

Five players had double digits in the Dutch team. Elles Dambrink 13, Anne Buijs 12, Eline Timmerman 10, Nika Daalderop 10 and Indy Baijens 10.

In Belgium, Britt Herbots had 13 points and Marlies Janssens scored 11. All in all, a good start for the Netherlands in VNL 2021.

We’ve witnessed another great clash between Turkey and Serbia. Zoran Terzic’s side was the one that forced the tie-break, but the Turkish girls were calm and won the game.

Meryem Boz was the top scorer in Turkey with 17 points, while Ebrar Karakurt contributed with 16 and Eda Erdem with 15.
