It was a day of contrasting outcomes at the Volleyball Nations League in Belgrade, with Team USA earning a confident 3-0 win over the Netherlands, while France edged out Serbia in a hard-fought five-set battle.
The U.S. Women’s National Team looked sharp and composed as they cruised to a straight-sets victory (25-18, 25-22, 25-19), marking their strongest showing of the tournament so far. With this win, the Americans improve to 3-4 in the standings.
Veteran Dana Rettke led the way with 11 points, while Logan Eggleston posted a match-high 14. Madisen Skinner added 13 points, and debuting setter Rachel Fairbanks impressed with steady play and a timely ace.
“There’s a real sense of progress with this group,” said Rettke. “We’re learning and enjoying the journey together.”

Meanwhile, France overcame Serbia 3-2 in a match full of momentum swings. Serbia started strong and looked poised to grab their first win of the tournament, but the French team fought back with grit and patience to turn things around.
Despite strong efforts from Rada Perović and Vanja Ivanović, Serbia couldn’t hold off France in the final set. Missing key players like Tijana Bošković again proved costly, as the team struggled in critical moments.
Serbia now turns to their final match in Belgrade against Poland in search of that elusive first win.
