Argentina and Brazil have a long history of rivalry in sports. No wonder each win of any of them has a special place in the hearts of their fans. But, the victory of Argentinian Men’s Volleyball NT over Brazil in the 2nd Round of Week 3 of the 2017 FIVB World League by a 3-1 (19-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-19) truly is special in terms of statistics.
In front of packed stands in “Orfeo Superdomo” in Córdoba (13,150 spectators), hosts Argentina took first-ever win against fierce rivals in the tournament, which occurred after 24 encounters of these two neighbors! It also meant a lot to Argentinian fans since, at the moment, Brazil were Olympic champions, a status they earned last year in Rio de Janeiro.
