In the first semifinal, they came back from two sets down at 1-3 to defeat the Dominican Republic 4-3 (11-15, 16-14, 11-15, 13-15, 15-7, 16-14, 15-8). Tomorrow they will play against the winner of the second semifinal Slovenia vs Bulgaria.
This will be the second final for Turkey who in 215 lost from Brazil in the match for the gold medal.
Madeline Guillen from Dominican Republic injured a left knee at 3-3 in the fifth set. The 16-year-old outside hitter had been her side’s best scorer to that moment with 12 points.
