She was celebrating each point made by VakifBank players and getting upset every time her team would lose sone. At the end, there was a big smile on her face.
“We are really happy for sure. We have fought for this and I think we have deserved to be in the finals. Still, it is not yet time for any kind of celebration. We have an important game on Sunday and we really want to win that trophy.”
Sheilla stated that she was aware even before the season that she would not play a lot.
“Yes, I knew it from the beginning, from June 2015. It was hard definitely. I was very tired psychologicaly at first, I could not think about volleyball, but I kept looking at some good parts. The good thing is that I will be in better physical condition when I join the national team and I am sure I will be ready for the Olympic Games.”
Despite being outside the starting lineup for the first time in her career, you will never hear Sheilla Castro complaining. She is prepared to do everything for her team.
“We are a team and I think it is the biggest strength of VakifBank. Only a team can win the Champions League.“
As for her future, everything remains open. She is not yet sure where she will play after the Olympics.
“I do not know, really. Everone are asking me the same question, but I do not know whether I will return to Brazil or stay in Europe. I do not want to think about that right now.”
