Everything started just fine for BUSTO ARSIZIO with a series of blocks by Valentina Arrighetti and Margareta Kozuch to move up 8:4 in the opening set. The Italians gradually widened the gap (14:9) as Kozuch and Christina Bauer showed off their potential in offense. Dinamo fought back after Tatiana Lupu got the right to serve (16:15) but the final rush was fully in favor of the guests from Italy who pocketed the final 25-23 with an attack by Kozuch.

With Kozuch standing out in defense and attack, BUSTO ARSIZIO stretched momentum also in set 2 (8:4) and the local Volleyball fans could admire the quality of that side that has dominated the Italian scene in the past season. Kozuch, Bauer and Julianne Faucette paced Yamamay with the scoreboard showing an impressive 25-15 in the end.

Dinamo regrouped in set 3 going up 8:4 with the blocks by Alida Marcovici and Ivana Zburova, with some more added by Lupu and Ioana Baciu (16:12). Zburova’s serving turn widened the gap for the home side up to 20:12 and some spectacular actions by the home heroines paved the way for the final 25-14. Kozuch fired up Yamamay’s comeback in set 4 even though the teams played point for point up to the second technical time-out. Via their experience and quality, as well as making fewer mistakes, the guests eventually cruised to the 25-22 that sealed their 3:1 win.

“I am not really satisfied with our performance from the serving area; our opponents performed well in this fundamental and they have very good middle blockers, so it was difficult for us to find a way through their blocks” said Italian mentor Carlo Parisi.

“I would like to congratulate our players because they fought bravely and also our neighbors of 2004 Tomis CONSTANTA for their away win in Italy against URBINO stated Dinamo’s general manager Marian Stefan. “The experience at this level determined the result of the match but if we continue to fight and play this way, we will surely get one victory in this group” said local head coach Branko Kovacevic.
