ITA M: Trentino got away in Game 1 but this time they fell – Verona tie series at 1-1

No.5 Calzedonia Verona returned the 2017/18 Italian men’s volleyball championship SuperLega UnipolSai quarterfinal series against No.4 Diatec Trentino to square one.

Verona tied the series against Trentino at 1-1 by prevailing at home in a tie-breaker, partially 25-23, 21-25, 23-25, 26-24, 15-13. Game 1 was also resolved in five sets.

The Slovenian Tonček Štern topped Verona with 23 points. The American Thomas Jaeschke recorded 5 kill blocks. The Serbian Uroš Kovačević and Filippo Lanza scored 16 points apiece for Trentino.

A decisive Game 3 is scheduled for March 24.
