Hyundai Capital is just one step away from claiming the V-League crown after a 3-1 victory over Korean Air in Game 2 of the championship series on April 3. Roared on by their home fans in Cheonan, the team leaned heavily on Cuban star Leonardo Leyva, who delivered 25 points to lead the charge.

The win gives Hyundai Capital a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series, putting them on the brink of their first league title since the 2018–2019 season. A win in Game 3, set for April 5 in Incheon, would also secure a rare treble—adding the championship to their Cup victory and regular season dominance.
Leo wasn’t alone in carrying the load. Su-Bong Heo stepped up with 17 points and Min-Ho Choi added 10.
Despite the loss, Korean Air’s foreign ace Kyle Russell put on a show, scoring a game-high 30 points and keeping his team competitive, especially with clutch plays in the second set. But it wasn’t enough to stop Hyundai Capital’s well-rounded attack and clutch performances.
Now, Hyundai Capital is eyeing a clean sweep and a return to the top of Korean volleyball. One more win, and the trophy is theirs.
