PAC U23 W: Fourth consecutive crown for the Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic won the fourth title of the U23 Pan American Cup in a row.

In the final of this year’s competition, the Dominican girls defeated the hosts Peru in straight sets and finished tournament by losing only one set. 

The match for the gold medal was finished 25-10, 25-17 and 25-18 and captain Brayelin Elizabeth Martinez and Gaila Gonzalez Lopez were the top scorers of the match with 16 points each. The 300 spectators watched this match in Lima.

In the match for the third place Cuba defeated Mexico 3-1 (25-15, 25-23, 22-25, 28-26) and won their third bronze medal in the Pan American Cup U23. Laura Suárez (15), Ailama Cese (15) and  Jessica Aguilera (12) were the main scorers of the winning team.

Final: Dominican Republic – Peru 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-18)

For 3rd place: Cuba – Mexico 3-1 (25-15, 25-23, 22-25, 28-26)

For 5th place: Chile – Colombia 0-3 (17-25, 21-25, 13-25)

For 7th place: Costa Rica – Guatemala 2-3 (25-20, 25-20, 27-29, 17-25, 9-15)
