The JT Thunders Hiroshima aim to seriously interfere in the title battle in the Japanese V.League next season. The one-time championship winners (2015) first engaged the eminent Argentine coach Raúl Lozano. After that, they filled one of the maximum allowed 2 quotas for foreign players with the famous American outside hitter Russell.

The 28-year-old US National Team member with whom he won the FIVB World Cup and NORCECA Championship once each competed on Italian SuperLega courts in the last 7 years, wearing the jersey of 3 clubs, concluded with Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza in the last 2 seasons. Actually, playing in Japan will be the first overseas experience outside Italy for the Best Outside Spiker of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games since leaving the Penn State (the Nittany Lions) college.
