One of the biggest revelations of the 2022 FIVB Women’s Volleyball Nations League, Sara Lozo, is in a mess to define her new club for the 2022-23 season.

One of the players who stood out most in the Serbia National Team who finished third in the 2022 Women’s VNL is in a pickle. The 25-year-old outside hitter spent last season in Russia, at Proton. As soon as 2021-22 ended, she signed a contract with Romania’s CSM Lugoj, which officially announced the transfer a month ago. Allegedly, she was to receive around 90,000 euros (info from Web Vôlei) for a year there. After exploding as a highlight in winning Serbian bronze in VNL, Lozo gained higher value in the market and received an offer almost three times higher from Ageo Medics, Japan, according to Volley News. At this point, Lozo has decided to retrace her steps, so much so that she has signed a second deal – with the V.League side.

After finding out about this, Lugoj have asked for a substantial buyout from the Japanese team (unofficially, about 100,000 euros) to consent to the transfer and free the player. Ageo, however, refused to play, thus putting Lozo in a dangerous situation: if the two clubs fail to find an agreement, the outside hitter won’t be able to take the field next season and risks the penalty of a long disqualification by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
