Lokomotiv is the provisional leader of the group with 6 points and the Czech national champions expect a very tough match on Tuesday. “Lokomotiv is one of the strongest teams participating in this year’s Champions League” says Czech mentor Jan Svoboda. “However, we will fight bravely especially as we enjoy the home advantage and the support of our fans”.
Jihostroj recently suffered its first defeat in the national league losing at the tie-break to Pribram and the main star of the group, Peter Platenik, has been out for the past week struggling with an injury. Still Jihostroj claimed its last match in the Czech league by routing Odolena Voda in straight sets (25-17, 25-13, and 25-19). Some 2’500 fans shall be in attendance on Tuesday and coach Svoboda adds: “We are well prepared for the match with Lokomotiv. We will do our best”.
