The pillar of the Poland Women’s Volleyball National Team, Joanna Wołosz, decided that she would not take part in the CEV European Championship, which will take place at the turn of August and September.
One of the world’s leading setters Wołosz will skip the next EuroVolley. This was announced by the head coach of the Poland National Team, Jacek Nawrocki. This all means that the absence of a 31-year-old player from the Polish squad in the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Nations League was everything but a coincidence. Now, the hope of the fans in the country that Wołosz will be in the squad for the EuroVolley faded.
Nawrocki explained the decision of a one-time CEV Champions League and FIVB Club World Championship best Setter with her desire to take a break after the last two seasons that have been very difficult for her “both in terms of physical stress and health”. In the recently concluded club season 2020/21, together with her team Imoco Volley Conegliano, Wołosz won the Italian Championship, Italian Cup, Italian Super Cup, and Champions League.
