The Polish male volleyball legend Mariusz Wlazły found out that being famous sometimes does not help and can even be an obstacle.
A curious anecdote happened to Wlazły, one of the greatest-ever Polish players. He applied to study at the Faculty of Psychology from the next academic year. The opposite hitter asked to join a closed group of freshmen on Facebook but was turned down by the admin who was convinced that someone was impersonating the famous volleyball player. On the Instagram profile of Trefl Gdańsk, Wlazły’s current club, a series of screenshots has been published regarding an exchange of messages between him and admin in which Wlazły tried to convince him that he is the real owner of the profile and not an impostor, even sending a selfie.
Because of strong resistance, Wlazły has decided to postpone these efforts until he gets to know the other students personally.
