The guys mentored by Italian-born Andrea Anastasi caught a good start impressing with their perfect reception and solid attacks thereby claiming a comfortable lead. However, the guests from “Down Under” did not surrender that easily and they fought their way back to draw level at 23 all, before the home heroes re-stored their supremacy by scoring the next couple of rallies to finish it off by the score of 25-23.

Australia stepped up the quality of their play in set 2 while Poland did struggle a little bit, especially in offense, but nevertheless the guys in red and white jerseys could seal this affair with yet another 25-23.

Poland imposed its pace in set 3 wrapping it up at 25-20 to claim this year’s first international game which was an extremely important test as the group is currently preparing for the start of the FIVB World League. This match also marked the first cap with the national team for David Konarski, a player that head coach Andrea Anastasi is very happy to be working with.
