Toronto was the place to be for thrills and upsets on the second day of the FIVB World League as hosts Canada handed Brazil their second straight loss, while Finland overcame Poland in Pool B. Both matches went to five sets, as did two of the day's other games: America's win over Korea in Pool C and Russia's victory over Japan in Pool A. Both the remaining games were 3-1 victories: for Italy against France in Florence, Italy, and Serbia over Cuba in Hamamatsu, Japan.
