“After the draw, we are modest optimists, but as always, everything will be seen on the court. In theory, there were stronger teams that we could draw. Of course, we appreciate the class of our opponents, but it is a team, definitely, within our reach. Chances are even. If we manage to eliminate Ziraat, in the next round we will play against the winner of the match between Trefl and Zenit. Zenit is probably the main favorite to win the Champions League. Such a match would be a great treat for the fans. However, I wish Trefl to beat the team from Kazan. Then the clash for the Final Four between us and Trefl would be more fun for volleyball fans,” commented Konrad Piechocki, the President of Skra.
“I think our players will play this match with a good opportunity for self-improvement. It will be a good experience for our club. We play against strong competitors, but we will strive to do our best to go to the next round, like we always do,” said Spaniard Fernando Muñoz Benítez, coach of Ziraat.
First leg of the Playoffs 12 is scheduled on February 16-18, while the second leg will be played on March 1-3.
