“It’s time to say goodbye to the court and I feel sad about it. As it turned out, my last match in front of a crowd was Paweł Zagumny’s farewell match. It occurred to me that I no longer belong there and that I have to find something else that will be my new challenge,” Ignaczak wrote, among other things, on his website.
All the trophies that legendary libero won in his career can be counted indefinitely. Let’s mention the most important ones: with Poland National Team – World Championship, European Championship and World League one-time each, on a club level – Polish Championship six times, Polish Cup three times and Polish Super Cup one-time.
In his entire career, which lasted 19 years, Ignaczak played only for five clubs. Chełmiec Wałbrzych, Kazimierz Płomień Sosnowiec, AZS Częstochowa, PGE Skra Bełchatów and finally, Asseco Resovia Rzeszów for which he performed the longest period (nine years) and from which he departed at the end of previous season.
