Piotr-Nowakowski
A 30-year-old Piotr Nowakowski extended the contract with Trefl Gdańsk for one more season which will be his second in a row in the Polish Plus Liga side.
One-time FIVB World Championship, CEV European Championship, and FIVB World League winner was the second best blocker in the national league last season with 93 kill blocks.
In addition, Trefl hired a 23-year-old Bartłomiej Mordyl, also a middle blocker, from Division 2 club KS AGH Kraków.
Thus, Trefl filled the middle blocker’s position in the 2018/19 squad. Besides Nowakowski and Mordyl, two last season’s middle blockers have a valid contract with the club – Wojciech Grzyb and Patryk Niemiec.
