Olympic champion with the Russia National Team in 2012, Dmitriy Muserskiy, told Match TV that he had extended the contract with the Japanese club Suntory Sunbirds for the 2022-23 season.

The 33-year-old legendary middle blocker has been playing for the Osaka club since 2018, winning the Japanese Championship twice in a row (in the last two seasons). The MVP of the 2013 CEV European Championship and Best Middle Blocker of the FIVB World League in 2013 and FIVB Volleyball Nations League in 2018 missed a significant portion of the last season due to a suspension that he received for violating anti-doping rules, nine years ago. The player himself claimed that his test results were concealed.
