RUS W: Kisy’s 44-Point Explosion Was Not Enough

by WoV

Brazilian opposite Kisy Nascimento delivered a jaw-dropping performance, scoring 44 points for Lokomotiv Kaliningrad — but her brilliance couldn’t prevent a dramatic 3–1 defeat to Zarechie-Odintsovo in Round 7 of the Russian Women’s Super League.

The clash was a true marathon, with all four sets decided by razor-thin margins (29–27, 29–27, 27–29, 32–30). Kisy was unstoppable in attack, converting 41 of 75 attempts (55%), adding three blocks, and posting an impressive +29 rating. Despite her performance, Zarechie held their nerve, led by Yulia Brovkina, who scored 23 points.

Lokomotiv’s outside hitter Irina Voronkova made her first appearance of the season, contributing 14 points before her upcoming move to China. But even with her addition, Lokomotiv couldn’t overcome Zarechie’s resilience.

In other matches of Round 7:

  • Dinamo-Ak Bars overpowered Dinamo Metar 3–0 (25–21, 25–13, 25–19).
  • Dynamo Moscow edged Uralochka-NTMK in a five-set thriller (3–2).
  • Tulitsa swept Omichka 3–0 with a commanding performance.
  • Yenisey Krasnoyarsk outplayed Korabelka 3–1, led by Elizaveta Saltykova’s 22 points.
