At the airport “Nikola Tesla” , vice-champion of the world have welcomed Aleksandar Boričić, president of Serbian Volleyball Federation, Slobodan Milošević, general secretary of the Serbian Federation , Nenad Golijanin , first vice president of the Federation , Zoran Avramović, marketing director , Dane Korica, general secretary of the Sports Federation of Serbia and Vladimir Batez , a gold medalist at the Olympic Games in Sydney 2000 and advisor to the Sports Federation of Serbia.

¨I’m glad that we are here again in front of you, only after 15 days after Copenhagen. Then, I promised you that we will try to win some medal in the next competition, and we fulfilled that in Brazil. I want to thank everyone for their support; it means a lot to us”, said captain Aleksandar Atanasijević.

”I must say that competition in Brazil was very well organized, that we felt good there and for sure we regret for the gold medal, especially because the final match was really good. Maybe this situation is good for us, because now we have to do better and on the next competition have bigger ambitions. These players are real heroes; they endured all the problems that they had with injuries. This talented generation is the result of good work in Serbian clubs and we are all proud of that”, added Igor Kolaković, head coach of Serbia.

”We did not expect this because we did not have a time for the preparation. But, the important thing is that this generation was together and once again proved that we are the best in the world. This time we won second place but next time we well be better”, said Uroš Kovačević.
