Marko Podraščanin middle blocker of Serbia:

Today we played very good and on the high level. This was a very important victory for us and I’m happy that we won this game. We took three points and I expect that Bulgaria will play for a win because this team is in the top six teams in the World. I hope for the best in the second match

Camillo Placi, coach of Bulgaria:

Serbia played very well. At the beginning we managed to be on high level, but we couldn’t close the first set. Psychologically the team is not very strong in this moment and it was obvious that Serbia, which played very good, displayed our problems. When the team plays bad the whole responsibility is for the one who leads it. I, as a coach take full responsibility for that loss. If you have to shoot on someone – do it on me, not on the team.”

Todor Aleksiev, captain of Bulgaria:

We lost from one very good team of Serbia and I congratulate them for that. We have to get out of this situation as soon as possible and I have to say that the team is much better than it was against USA. I hope that soon we will find our game.”

Igor Kolaković, coach of Serbia:

It was a very important win for us. We played very emotional, very precise volleyball. The first set was though, but we scored the important points in the important moments. I know that tomorrow we will see better Bulgarian team but I am sure we will play very good volleyball.”
