#RoadToTokyo W: Argentina sweep Peru, Colombia make 7,000 fans in Bogotá joyful

The national teams of Argentina and hosts Colombia finished Day 1 of the 2020 South American Women’s Volleyball Olympic Qualifier in Bogotá victoriously.

In the match that opened the tournament in the Colombian capital, Argentina swept Peru, with partial 26-24, 25-16, and 25-18, to add the first 3 points on their account. The top scorer of the game was Argentina’s Lucía Fresco with 16 points. Ángela Leyva tallied 13 for Peru.

This encounter was followed by a true sporting party in front of 7,000 spectators at the Coliseo El Salitre who gave wind beneath the wings of Colombia to beat Venezuela. Amanda Coneo put down 22 points for the winning side, while Meriyen Serrano scored 10 for Venezuela.
