Asli Kalac topped the scorers with a total of 14 points: 9 spikes, 2 blocks and 3 service winners. Seyma Ercan added another 11 points for Turkey. Captain Damla Cakiroglu enjoyed a rest day.

The North Africans started well but could not cope with the power and precision the Europeans displayed. Even though coach Gökhan Edman tried some different line-ups, Turkey proved too strong for their opponents. However, 24 mistakes showed a certain instability in Turkey’s game.

Turkey complete their FIVB Women’s U20 World Championship campaign with a 4-0 record after the first round while Algeria drop to 1-3 but still have the chance to make it to the second stage.
